Anthropomorphism of AI - I'm not a fan.
Pretending things are people, and treating like things just doesn't;t seem wise - especially when we do it to make ourselves look good in press releases. All the reader sees when you brag about your "new female AI intern" is that no minority or POC humans were hired or paid in the making of your press release.
As Terry Pratchett said - evil is treating people like things. But, equally, pretending things are people to trick people for profit is also not particularly nice.
Why do we fall for anthropomorphism of redundancy?
Where else do you see organisations treating things as people, and people as things?
Is it helpful to play pretend around sentience at this point in time?
Why do marketers and corporations think play pretending software is people is a good idea?
