Digital ownership rights (or lack thereof)

Today's #dailysignal looks at digital ownership rights (or lack thereof) and attempts to stay clear of the culture wars around the example at hand...

Essentially, Kindle users have found their copies of Roald Dahl's books "updated" to the new (improved? or censored?) "sensitivity reader" approved versions - without their consent.

Questions now are:

Is there such a thing as digital ownership? (or is digital ownership, like digital privacy oxymoronic?)
