What’s the growth of paganism got to do with anything?
You tell me.
Hint - quite a lot - our religious beliefs and metaphysical tendencies shape our values, our politics, our laws - and our work ethics…
And signals start on the fringes. ~75,000 odd pagans in the UK census might sound insignificant to you, but trends start slowly then suddenly, and these numbers follow rather exactly what I’ve been predicting for some years now : that formal (“western”) religion’s demise doesn’t mean we’ve stopped believing in that which cannot be proved, but rather that we’re creating and re finding new and old gods, rites and ritual to take their place in our psyche.
Your thoughts? Where is all our excess belief directed these days? (Crypto? Fiat? Crystals? Fairies?)
Where have you seen the metaphysical turn affecting corporate and national values and politics?
