Today's signal looks at one of the key insights from last week's Youth Day innovation immersion tour with Flux Trends - specifically how #GenerationZ is a "no sunk costs" generation - that is how they have no regrets about walking away from relationships, jobs or brands that are no longer serving their interests. (This was a point also highlighted by Ronen Aires from Student Village in his new book, Breach.) In other words, how loyalty is now about the present and the future value exchange - not about the past.
What do you think? How can we find a middle ground between loyalty and walking away from bad investments?
How can companies justify demands for customer or employee loyalty? (What can you credibly offer in exchange?)
Is this a sign of impatience or wisdom? (or both?)
(By the way, if you are curious about our intensive innovation immersions - do get in touch at connected@fluxtrends.co.za. They are really something special and deeply, not superficially transformational, for both you and your business.)
