Kids protesting for Palestine in Roblox.
This signals a few things :
- a trend confirmation on the virtualisation of protest from the street to the metaverse in an attempt at presvering anonymity (via avatar) and avoiding censorship - or just because that’s where people are gathering
- the declining age of political consciousness (Gen Alpha is barely 13 this year)
Your thoughts?
Are virtual reality protests effective?
And what does this say about the future of politics - and youth activism? Do children’s protests challenge or reinforce adult ideas?
Let me know.
