What are the real costs of our "unreal" digital toys?
Much like Bitcoin and the general crypto economy caught a lot of criticism for the industry's energy usage; the new AI economy is raising eyebrows for its water usage...
Of course, no nice things come entirely free, and there are always real trade offs to be considered - the question is if the real costs of these new shiny tools are worth what we get from them.
What other hidden costs have we forgotten about?
Is "artificial intelligence" as artificial (or as "intelligent") as we think? (or are we forgetting about the real inputs?)
How can we have out NFT cake and eat it too? (Are there ways to reduce water and energy inputs without limiting outputs if we think a bit further?)
