Thin people are starving the economy (apparently)

#DailySignals - Your 2 minute preview of the future

More on wonder weight loss drugs! This time Ozempic et al are accused in the Wall Street Journal of being responsible for *declining retail food sales* and generally poor consumer spending…

(The appetite dampening effect of these shots is also now - as Scott Smith noted -a strategic consideration in the mergers and acquisitions strategies of snack companies. Interesting times.)

It’s a good reminder of how everything is connected and how signals creep across domains and industries in very interesting ways.

Are weight loss drugs (partially) responsible for the economic slow down - or is this just an excuse or cover up for the general cost of living crisis causing many of us to tighten our belts?

Where else are the wonder drugs going to disrupt? (Is the snack industry under threat? What about travel industry - if the shots cost as much as a European escape??)

Let us know!
