Women without men

#DailySignals your 2 minute preview of the future

Men without women/ women without men...

Today's #dailysignal looks at the "4-B" Korean women's movement which commits to no dating, no sex, no marriage and no babies : Ie an outright rejection of female participation in procreation (and it matches South Korea's already below sustainability sub 0.8% fertility rate).

Demography really is destiny.

It calls into question what a future without men would look like (science says that's already possible - we can make viable sperm cells and embryos from pretty much any cell) - and, looking further ahead (when those external womb projects get of the ground), what a word with people without people could be like.

Are men nice, should we keep them?

How do you feel about procreation without sex?

What about fertility rates - is the species worth preserving, and if so, how far should we go to make/ incentivise people have babies? (or is that as terrible meddling as the opposite...)

Whatever you think, degrowth as an ideology is only going to get deeper. And the battle of the sexes is far from over.
