Today I look at how - in jest and in all seriousness - people are turning to AI outsourced “prosthetic consciences” to tell them what to do and what to think and what is right and what is wrong.
The signal relates to Twitch’s new Jesus-in-your-pocket AI that will prompt YOU with dating - and gaming - advice.
Is it any surprise that as we lose formal religious homogeneity in a more secular world - and the set creeds and lore that went with them, detailing right from wrong - that we seek validation of our opinions and morality from a centralised source?
Is it any wonder that (as I predicted!) neo-spirituality - a move to the metaphysical - is on the rise as people seek meaning beyond the material?
Have you come across - or engaged with - workplace spiritual wellness workshops and consultants (it’s a growing trend - people want meaning in work, not just in their personal lives)?
