Give us solar but also give us unspoiled sunsets?

#DailySignals - Your 5 minute preview of the future

More bread and roses things.

(And more Canada 🇨🇦;)

Today I look at how Alberta is enacting laws to preserve pristine Canadian natural beauty being spoiled by solar and wind farms.

Now, they *are* eye sores, but power is needed - as is sustainability. So something somewhere has got to give a little.

So, whether the new law is simply political shenanigans or not, I do think the trade off this signal points to : that of trading away the “unnecessary” things that make life worth living (natural vistas! Roses! Cheese! Champagne!) are worth more than making or even saving a living…

Very similar concepts here to the internal diologue of the “life audit” - that great reckoning of the corporate worker’s soul : is the work I’m doing and the living I’m earning worth the LIFE I’m giving up?

Do we deserve roses as well as bread?

How about some unspoiled rolling vistas as well as green power?

How about quality vs quantity of life and income?

What “roses” do you desire or permit?

Or is all we behold mere grist in the mill? To be used - sustainably, perhaps - but without perseveration of “mere” aesthetics?

Let me know!
