Our brains are getting smaller 😱.
Does that mean we’re headed for “Idiocracy”, devolving into a future past “peak human” (as some of the “elite breeders” believe)?
Or that we (collectively) are evolving into a more symbiotic “collectively intelligent” species where no one needs to be smart in all the ways (or at least the less cognitively gifted can survive just fine) because we can draw from each other to compensate (that’s one theory anyway)?
And if so - what does AI and literally distributed digital intelligence woven into the World Wide Web to draw on on demand (Intelligence-As-A-Service) mean for the future of individual and collective cognitive collective intelligence?
Will generation Bee (the one after the current generation Alpha) be a hive mind?
Is the individual an evolutionary dead end?
Anyway. Questions like this are why we futurists future.
Let me know your thoughts.
