Snuggle up

#DailySignals - Your 2 minute preview of the future

I had to mention the viral ~R11,000 p/m 1/2 a bed to share for rent in Canada.

I mean, I wasn’t surprised. Podshare (oh they of the ~R24,000 a month Silicon Valley single bunk beds) has been around for ages - and Canada is, well, Canada. However the visceral global reaction to the proposition speaks to nerve being touched - to a generation with shrunk expectations, to the distant memory of the “white picket fence” dream - and the reality of nonsense economics in the wild.

This is no dream worth getting out of, well, bed for.

Your thoughts of the sustainability and trajectory of our economy if this is any signal to go by?

Why is housing such a tough nut to crack (hint, read my book https://www.amazon.com/Rescuing-Our-Republic-Radical-Africa-ebook/dp/B0CLJ3TMKD it’s got a chapter on the violence of monopoly economics - and some alternative ideas to chew on)?

What does this signify about the prospects of consumer spending power? - and future employee remuneration demands?
