Social media, the new smoking?
Today’s signal that looks at how NYC has declared social media an “environmental hazard” (not just an individual mental health problem, but one with bystander effects) suggests the future law may just see it that way.
We forget how what we see as “normal” is anything but - what we accept as “the water we swim in” will be challenged and checked (for better or worse) by future generations.
What else that we find “normal” and social could (or should!) be overturned?
What abnormal and antisocial things and systems do we accept as “normal” just because we’re used to them?
